I’ve been showing dogs since I was ten years old, and enjoy it very much. I started going to shows with my mother and saw other people my age showing dogs. My mom asked if I wanted to show one of our Golden Retrievers in Junior Showmanship. I was scared to death but agreed to do it.

After that I started helping Amy Rodrigues once in awhile when I went to the shows, and that’s when I met Adrienne and Megan Hill. I wasn’t at the shows all that often because I was very involved with playing on my club soccer team. On my free weekends I did go to the shows I competed in juniors and just watched the other handlers show. When I started winning more and more it changed my interest from soccer to dog shows.

My mother and I breed and handle our Golden Retrievers.  After our second litter my mom asked me if I wanted to keep one to train and show for myself. The boy I kept soon became my Juniors dog. It was with this dog, Premiere’s Rock Your World WC RN “Perry,” I started winning and being successful in Juniors. At age twelve I showed Perry in the six to nine class and went Best of Opposite over specials. After this Major win with my very own show dog I was completely hooked with dog shows.

I showed Perry in juniors and accomplished qualifying for Eukanuba and Westminster, which helped me become a top ranking junior at the age of thirteen showing only a puppy.

Outside of dog shows I’m an honor student, play in an orchestra, and I’m on the cross country and track team at my high school.

Currently, I show an Irish setter and sometimes a Newfoundland in juniors, but still continue to show my goldens in the breed ring. I also work for Adrienne and enjoy it very much! She teaches me everything I need to know for when I become a professional handler. I have learned how to handle, groom, and take care of many different breeds.
